At Brand Republic – Premium Supplier of Promotional Merchandise, we are committed to conducting our business with integrity, responsibility, and respect for people and the planet. We source products in accordance with the highest ethical standards, while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
With a long history in manufacturing, we hold ourselves and our partners to strict expectations. All suppliers must demonstrate ethical and humane work practices and show respect for the laws, cultures, and communities in which they operate.
Our goal is to remain a leader in our industry by adhering to best practices, upholding strong ethical conduct, and fostering long-term, transparent partnerships.
Oversight and Compliance
The Brand Republic Ethical Sourcing Policy (ESP) is reviewed at Director level and overseen by our International Factory Manager. Each supplier undergoes regular audits, which include on-site visits and direct inspections.
-
Non-compliance: If issues are identified, remedial actions are agreed upon with clear timelines for improvement. If a supplier is unwilling or unable to meet these requirements, we initiate an exit plan.
-
New suppliers: Must meet our ESP standards before any business relationship begins. Factory visits and compliance checks form part of the onboarding process. Only once a supplier demonstrates genuine commitment to ethical practices will Brand Republic proceed with engagement.
Core Principles of Our ESP
Brand Republic will only work with manufacturing partners that:
-
Prohibit Child Labour
-
We do not tolerate child labour. Factories must comply with local minimum working age laws, or 15 years of age, whichever is greater.
-
-
Control Working Hours Responsibly
-
Factories must comply with legal working hour requirements and ensure overtime does not compromise health, safety, or wellbeing.
-
-
Provide Fair Wages and Benefits
-
Workers must be paid at least the legal minimum wage and receive all entitlements in compliance with local laws. If meals or breaks are provided, they must comply with government requirements.
-
-
Ensure Safe Accommodation (if applicable)
-
Worker housing must meet health, safety, fire, and sanitation regulations.
-
-
Maintain a Safe Work Environment
-
Factories must ensure safe and hygienic workplaces, free from risks that could cause injury or harm.
-
-
Keep Facilities Clean
-
Production areas, toilets, meal areas, and accommodation must be maintained to a clean and safe standard.
-
-
Uphold Quality Standards
-
Products must be safe, compliant, and produced under lawful and ethical conditions.
-
-
Provide Training
-
Workers must receive adequate, recorded training to carry out their work safely and effectively.
-
-
Meet Environmental Standards
-
Factories must comply with environmental laws and are strongly encouraged to reduce their environmental impact beyond the legal minimum.
-
Human Rights and Labour Standards
Our policy is based on internationally recognised labour standards, including:
-
ILO Conventions
-
Universal Declaration of Human Rights
Factories must:
-
Operate without forced, prison, or indentured labour.
-
Allow freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining.
-
Treat all workers with dignity and respect, free from discrimination, harassment, or coercion.
-
Employ fairly, based on ability—not race, gender, religion, or personal characteristics.
Monitoring and Accountability
-
Brand Republic auditors and representatives have unrestricted access to facilities and relevant records.
-
Workers must be free to speak confidentially without fear of retaliation.
-
Factories must maintain accurate documentation relating to wages, hours, and worker age.
-
Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) will be implemented where necessary, with follow-up reviews to ensure progress.
If suppliers fail to comply or show unwillingness to improve, Brand Republic reserves the right to terminate the business relationship.
Commitment to Continuous Improvement
We recognise that global labour conditions and human rights standards are constantly evolving. Brand Republic is committed to regularly reviewing and updating our policies to ensure they remain relevant, rigorous, and aligned with best practice.
Respect for human rights, worker wellbeing, and environmental responsibility are central to who we are. By upholding these principles, we ensure that our products reflect not only quality and value but also integrity and respect across every stage of our supply chain.
